About us and our kitchen
Little India Kitchen is a cottage food production operation run from a private home in Princeton, Texas, under the Texas cottage food law.
THIS PRODUCT WAS PRODUCED IN A PRIVATE RESIDENCE THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENTAL LICENSING OR INSPECTION.
Every item is labelled with its name, allergens, the date it was made and our registration number or address, as the law requires.
Ordering
- We cook to order each week. The order cutoff is Wednesday at 11:59 pm Central Time for delivery or pickup that Friday or Saturday.
- Your order is confirmed when we reply to confirm it, or when your card payment goes through. We may decline or limit an order, for example if we're fully booked or can't reach your address. If we decline a paid order, we refund it in full.
- Menu items, portions and availability can change from week to week.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars and shown on our menu. Texas sales tax is added where it applies.
- Delivery fees, if any, are confirmed before your order is final.
- Online payments (PayPal, debit and credit cards) are processed by PayPal. Orders on Hotplate follow Hotplate's checkout. For WhatsApp orders, we confirm how to pay when we reply.
Delivery and pickup
- We deliver to Princeton, McKinney, Allen, Frisco and Plano, Texas, on Friday and Saturday. Online orders are delivered by us or a member of our household, as Texas law requires. We do not ship food.
- We'll confirm a delivery or pickup window. Please make sure someone is available to receive the food, or tell us where to leave it.
- Once food is delivered or picked up, refrigerate any item labelled with safe-handling instructions right away.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
- Before the Wednesday cutoff: you can change or cancel your order for a full refund.
- After the cutoff: we have already bought ingredients and started cooking for you, so we can't offer refunds for cancellations.
- If something is wrong: a missing item, a mix-up or a quality problem, tell us within 24 hours with a photo at info@littleindiakitchen.com. We'll make it right with a replacement, credit or refund.
Allergens and dietary needs
All our food is vegetarian. Allergens are listed with every menu item and on every label. Our home kitchen may also handle wheat, milk, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame, and some store-bought ingredients (such as pav) may contain soy. We do not use eggs in any of our food. We take care to avoid cross-contact, but we cannot guarantee any item is free of allergens.
If you have a severe allergy, please talk to us before ordering. You are responsible for checking the allergen information before eating.
Food safety and storage
Our food is made fresh and is best eaten the day you receive it. Keep items with safe-handling instructions refrigerated and eat them within two days. Reheat cooked food until steaming hot. Shelf-stable sweets such as ladoo can be kept at room temperature for about a week.
Using our website
- Please use the site only to browse our menu, place genuine orders and contact us.
- Our name, logo, text and design belong to Little India Kitchen. Food photographs are used under Creative Commons licences and credited on our photo credits page.
- Links to other services (PayPal, Hotplate, WhatsApp, Instagram) are covered by those companies' own terms.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not responsible for delays or problems caused by events outside our control, such as severe weather or road closures. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Texas law that cannot be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Collin County, Texas.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Orders are covered by the terms in place when you placed them.
